THE EXAM PROCESS ( Bone assessment for dental implant)

For a CT-scan :

On the day of your appointment, you will be greeted by our staff on the third floor for your registration.

A CT-scan is a non-painful procedure.

Our radiology technician will ask you to lie down on your back on the scanner’s bed. Your head will be immobilized. The technician will then slide you into a big ring of great diameter. This ring produces X-rays only in the area of interest and 2D and 3D images are computed thereafter.

The duration of this exam is approximately 30 minutes.

For an MRI:

On the day of your appointment, you will be greeted by our staff on the third floor for your registration.

An MRI is a non-painful procedure.

Our radiology technician will ask you to lie down on your back on the MRI bed. A special receiver antenna will be positioned in the center of the area to be imaged. At any time during the procedure, you may communicate with the radiology technician by a microphone. Headphones are provided to listen to your choice of music or radio station.

It will be imperative that you remain still and not move during the acquisition part of the MRI to ensure that the images are clear and of good diagnostic quality. Earplugs are provided to reduce the continuous stumping sound emitted by the scanner. This stumping sound does not cause any inconvenience since the majority of patients have a tendency to relax and doze off during the procedure.

The duration is approximately 30 to 45 minutes on average.
